Introduction To ConnectOW

Welcome to the new SUNY Old Westbury portal!  The new portal has easy access to all the applications and information you will need.   You will be able to create a personalized dashboard to fit your specific needs.  The portal is based on cards that contain various different links, applications and/or documents.   These cards will be categorized with common information and functionality.   The cards will be available based on your role (student, staff and/or faculty). 
 

When you log in for the very first time you will see these pages – subsequent login’s will bypass this and you will get right onto your home page.

Here are some tips to navigating through the new site.

 

  1. You can move cards that are not locked.  Just drag and drop them to the position you want them to be in.  Locked cards will remain at the top, you can’t move or delete them.
  2. To remove unwanted cards, click the ribbon in the up right corner of the card Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

If you want to add a previously deleted card or want to find something you don’t see, click the Discover More button at the bottom of your pageUploaded Image (Thumbnail)In the Find Cards search, type the card or type of card you are looking for.Once you see the card, click the ribbon in the upper right corner.Hit the hamburger menu in the upper left corner and hit home to go back to your page.

  1. If you click the hamburger menu in the upper left corner, you can find card that are in various categories (academics, work, community), along with your profile, sign out and resources.   Resources is where you will find the link for the ITS Service Desk, Office 365, FAQ’s and the University’s links to social media.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)   
  2. You can add your own links to a card.  The card is called Web Links.  Click Add New Link then create a title for it and add the URL for that link then click Add.   Beware, if you delete the card and put it back, you will lose the links that you originally put on.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. You can create your own to do lists and set reminders for each item.  Click Add New Task and set the reminders.   Once complete, hit Add.   Beware, if you delete the card and put it back, you will lose the tasks that you originally put on. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
