Before or after you upload your Panopto video to Brightspace, you need to update your video’s share settings in Panopto so that students may view and/or download your video. Folders also have their own share settings if you plan to share a whole folder of videos (see bottom of document).
Video Share Settings
STEP 1
Hover over your video and select "Settings"
STEP 2
Ensure you are viewing the ‘Overview’ menu and navigate to “Downloads,” then change the drop-down menu selection to Authenticated Users with Access
STEP 3
Navigate from “Overview” in the settings menu to “Share”
STEP 4
In the “Who Can Access” section, select the “Change” button then select your preferred option
Note: The two below options are recommended for student access:
- Your Organization (unlisted) - Anyone at your org who has the link
- Your Organization – Anyone at your org can find and access
(when you add the video to Brightspace, students will then have
the appropriate access with either of these two options)
Folder Share Settings
STEP 1
Click “Browse” on the left side of the screen
Select the folder you would like to share with students
You should then see the folder name display on the top left of the page
STEP 2
Navigate to the top right of the page and click the settings wheel
Select “Share” from the menu options on the left
STEP 3
In the “Who Can Access” section, select the “Change” button then select your preferred option
